Changes to Schistosoma IgG Ab Testing

Schistosoma IgG Ab
Effective June 4, 2018, Schistosoma IgG Ab (SCHIST) will have the following changes:
Specimen Requirement
The required specimen volume will increase to 1 mL, and the minimum volume will increase to 0.5 mL.
In addition to Gold BD Hemogard Serum Separation Tubes (SST), Red BD Hemogard Serum Tubes (No Additive) will also be acceptable for collection.
Serum should be transferred to a standard aliquot tube.

After separation from cells: Unacceptable

After separation from cells: 1 month
Frozen
After separation from cells: 1 month

Enzyme Immunoassay

Refer to report.
Special Information
Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens are unacceptable.
This test is New York DOH approved.
Days Performed/Reported
Days performed will vary.
Reporting time will be 4 – 9 days.
