If Bordetella pertussis Antibody, IgM by ELISA is 1.2 IV or greater, then Bordetella pertussis IgM Immunoblot will be added at an additional charge. Contaminated, heat-inactivated, or severely lipemic specimens are unacceptable. If possible, specimens from New York clients will be sent out to a New York DOH approved laboratory.

Clinical Info

CDC first-line tests for pertussis are PCR and/or culture. However, if serology is used to access late-stage pertussis, the recommended test is Bordetella pertussis Antibodies, IgA and IgG by ELISA with reflex to Immunoblot.
