Clinical Info

This panel is intended to assist in the diagnosis of coagulation disorders in patients with a prolonged APTT, but normal PT, whether or not there is a bleeding diathesis. Disorders that may be investigated include the lupus anticoagulant, von Willebrand disease, intrinsic pathway factor deficiencies (factors VIII, IX, XI, XII, prekallikrein, high molecular weight kininogen), coagulation factor inhibitors and anticoagulant drug effects. Note: It is recommended that the abnormal APTT be confirmed before ordering this panel.
