Special Info
FISH methods incorporating 8 or 12 probes will be utilized for testing. 8 probes will be charged initially, but 4 more probes on 3 additional slides may be performed and charged at an additional cost.
Clinical Info
Bone marrow aspirate samples are evaluated for plasma cells and FISH methodology is used to detect abnormalities of 13q, 17p, 1p/1q, CEP9, CEP15 and translocations of IGH and IGH/CCND1. If an IGH translocation is present that does not represent an IGH/CCND1 translocation, additional reflex studies will be performed using probes for IGH/MMSET, IGH/MAF and IGH/MAFB.
