Special Info

If Blastomyces antibodies are equivocal or positive by immunoassay then Blastomyces dermatitidis Antibodies by Immunodiffusion, CSF will be added at an additional charge. Body fluids other than cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) are not acceptable. Contaminated, hemolyzed, xanthochromic, or severely lipemic specimens are unacceptable.

Clinical Info

This test detects antibodies to Aspergillus, Coccidioides, and Histoplasma by complement fixation and Blastomyces by immunoassay. Negative fungal serology does not rule out the possibility of current infection.
