       Refer to report and evaluation for atypical cells suspicious or diagnostic of malignancy. Interpretation by Pathologist. 

Special Info

Label, using a #2 pencil, the frosted end of glass slide with two unique patient identifiers (patient's name and clinic number). Collect skin lesions by scraping the lesion with a scalpel or spatula. Transfer sample on slide evenly with a smooth stroke. Express nipple discharge samples directly onto a slide, use a second glass slide to smear sample evenly. Immediately fix slide using Cytology spray fixative or placing into liquid Cytology fixative for transport. REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW: Specimen must be accompanied by Cytology requisition giving patient's name, age, clinic number, clinician, clinical history, procedure location, specimen submitted, time and date.
