Florida Respiratory Virus Surveillance Statistics

Cleveland Clinic Florida Respiratory Pathogen Surveillance Statistics

The Respiratory Pathogen Positivity Rate Report tracks the presence of influenza, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and other respiratory pathogens, including adenovirus, seasonal coronaviruses, human metapneumovirus, parainfluenza, rhinovirus/enterovirus, Bordetella pertussis, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae in Florida.

Comments from the Medical Director:

As of April 11th 2026, Influenza A positivity has declined to 3.3%, while Influenza B (0.9%), RSV (1.7%), and SARS-CoV-2 (1.0%) remain at low levels, indicating minimal activity of traditional winter respiratory viruses. Rhinovirus/Enterovirus (9.0%) is the predominant pathogen, followed by Human Metapneumovirus (6.0%), Parainfluenza (4.5%), and endemic coronaviruses (229E/HKU1/NL63/OC43; ~4.3%), consistent with expected seasonal transitions.

Health professionals should continue to monitor these trends closely, as the current distribution of respiratory pathogens is consistent with local and national seasonal trends.
