Patient's age and reason for referral are required. Must submit Biochemical Genetics Patient Information form with the specimen. Grossly hemolyzed specimens will be rejected. This test is New York State approved.
Clinical Info
This test is for congenital disorders of glycosylation. If looking for evaluation of alcohol abuse, please order Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin (CDTRAN). Other conditions such as heredity fructose intolerance, galactosemia, and liver disease may result in increased levels of carbohydrate deficient transferrin.
