|Separate serum from cells as soon as possible. Transfer serum to standard aliquot tube and refrigerate.
Minimum Specimen Requirements
|Minimum volume will not allow for repeat or additional testing. Sending of 0.5ml is preferred when possible.

Bacterial contamination or heat inactivation of the specimen may affect the test result, do not heat inactivate sera.
This test should only be used in patients with a previously known and/or concurrent positive HBsAg result. Along with HBeAg test, Hepatitis B e antibody test is used for monitoring the natural history of Hepatitis B virus infection and prognostication. Clinical correlation is required.
This assay is not approved for use in screening blood, plasma or tissue donors. This assay is not designed to test body fluids other than human serum.
