Special Info

Bacterial contamination or heat inactivation of the specimen may affect the test result, do not heat inactivate sera.

Clinical Info

This test should only be used in patients with a previously known and/or concurrent positive HBsAg result. Along with HBeAg test, Hepatitis B e antibody test is used for monitoring the natural history of Hepatitis B virus infection and prognostication. Clinical correlation is required.

Clinical Limitation

This assay is not approved for use in screening blood, plasma or tissue donors. This assay is not designed to test body fluids other than human serum.
