Plasma specimens are unacceptable. Hemolyzed specimens will be rejected.

Use as a tumor marker for evaluation of neuroendocrine tumors. This assay is performed using the BRAHMS NSE Kryptor Immunoassay. Results obtained with different assay methods or kits cannot be used interchangeably. Results cannot be interpreted as absolute evidence of the presence or absence of malignant disease.
