Fill each tube to the marked line (0.5 mL in tubes 1,2,and 5;1.0 mL in tubes 3 and 4). Place specimens on ice after collection. If specimen is blood contaminated, the tubes should be centrifuged immediately (prior to freezing) and the clear CSF transferred to new similarly labeled tubes then frozen ASAP at -80 C.
