CRITICAL FROZEN. Additional specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Specimens that are grossly hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic or thawed will be rejected.
Clinical Info
Useful in diagnosis of somatostatin-producing tumors. Elevated levels of somatostatin are observed with somatostatinoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma and pheochromocytoma.
