Clinical Info

Screening for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Carpenter/Coustan) guidelines state a gestational diabetes mellitus positive screen is made, in women not previously diagnosed with overt diabetes, when the 1 hr plasma glucose level is equal to or above 140 mg/dL. The Cleveland Clinic Ob/Gyn and Women’s Health Institute recommends a 135 mg/dL cut-off.
