Pathology Consultative Services

Placental and Perinatal Pathology

The Placental and Perinatal Pathology Service provides placental, fetal, and neonatal autopsy pathology service.

Placental expertise spans throughout gestation from early spontaneous abortion tissues to the post-term placenta. Subspeciality review by a perinatal pathologist can assist in answering important questions for the grieving family, inform future pregnancies, and provide further diagnostic clarity in a subspeciality that receives a high degree of medico-legal scrutiny.

Our internationally recognized pathologists have formal training and extensive experience, and includes board certified pediatric/perinatal and gynecologic pathologists. They have written numerous articles, book chapters, and textbooks on the topic and frequently give domestic and international lectures.
