Serous fluids: Creatinine measurement in peritoneal or drainage fluids is considered a useful test for detecting the presence of urine leaking through a defect in the urinary tract. A ratio of serous fluid creatinine to a concurrent serum creatinine > 1.0 indicates possible urine extravasation. Amniotic fluid: Creatinine measurement can be performed on amniotic fluid.
