Unacceptable conditions include plasma, urine, heat inactivated and contaminated specimens. This test is New York DOH approved.
Clinical Info
This test is not recommended for evaluation of general hearing loss. The presence of HSP70 IgG antibodies may be useful in predicting corticosteroid responsiveness in a subset of patients with autoimmune inner ear disease (AIED) characterized by idiopathic rapidly progressive sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). HSP70 IgG antibodies are also associated with a number of autoimmune diseases and have also been reported in apparently healthy individuals. A negative result does not rule out response to treatment or to a diagnosis of AIED.
