Clinical Info

Anti-insulin antibody test is used as an aid in diagnosis and prognosis of autoimmune diabetes mellitus in combination with other tests such as anti-GAD65 and anti-IA-2 antibody. A single negative result cannot rule out autoimmune diabetes mellitus. The test is not reliable in patients who had previously received exogenous insulin. Clinical correlation is required.
