Special Info

Patient must fast a minimum of 8 hours. Obtain lactose from pharmacy. Lactose load in children: 2g/kg up to 50 g. Lactose load in adults: 50 g. Specimens to collect: fasting then 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes post lactose load. Indicate collection time on each specimen.
