This order should be placed on a sample drawn before DDAVP administration to establish a baseline.Note: 3.2% sodium citrate is the preferred antigcoagulant recommended by NCCLS.
Clinical Info
This order should be placed on patients with known or suspected von Willebrand disease who are given a trial of the vasopressin analog DDAVP to assess its efficiency in elevating VWF levels. It is intended to serve as a baseline against which the patient's response to DDAVP can be assessed.
