Patient preparation: discontinue coumadin therapy for one week prior to collection. 3.2% sodium citrate is the preferred anticoagulant recommended by CLSI.
Clinical Info
For use in the evaluation of the hypercoagulable state due to congenital or acquired protein S deficiency. This is an immunologic assay which detects the free protein S in plasma. Only the free protein is functional as a cofactor to protein C.
