Clinical Info

Synovial fluids: Synovial fluid triglycerides measurement may be useful in classifying various joint disorders. The reference range for adult synovial fluid triglycerides measurement is <= 40% of the concurrent plasma cholesterol measurement. Serous fluids: Serous fluid triglycerides measurement may be useful in classifying the effusion as chylous or nonchylous. A serous fluid triglycerides measurement >110 mg/dL is suggestive of a chylous effusion. A serous fluid triglycerides measurement <= 110 mg/dL is suggestive of a nonchylous effusion. Reference: 1.
